CAN Shelter Infirmary

The Infirmary was built to fulfill multiple purposes. This room serves as an in-house treatment center, which helps us help cats with medical needs more quickly and efficiently. We are able to have many procedures performed right at the shelter by one of several veterinarians who are currently involved in our organization. It also provides a quiet environment for cats recovering from surgical procedures. The Infirmary is also sometimes home to nursing mothers and their newborn kittens!

The Infirmary features:

Stainless steel cages to provide a private, sterile environment
A mobile examination table for in-house veterinary visits
Cabinets for storage of a large assortment of medication and supplies
A powder room for our volunteers and visitors

This long counter and sink are used to prepare special meals and medications.	The window goes through to the Cat-Chen.	Northeast corner and the first bank of cages. This door goes to the outside and allows us to bring cats that may be ill into the shelter without exposing them to the other cats.	Southeast corner and the second bank of cages. This door goes to Lily's Pad.

One of our special needs kitties - the lovely Malibu. Malibu found her forever home in December, 2004. What a wonderful holiday present!	The lovely, fluffy Hillary strikes a pose. Hillary is an older girl, but is still incredibly agile and spunky.	Toby in a terribly cute pose (pretending that he isn't actually spoiled rotten by our volunteers!)	Our resident beauty-kitty, Amber. Extremely shy, she is slowly beginning to trust people and will occasionally allow a few select people to stroke her gorgeous long fur!

Handsome boy Matthew just loves attention. He found his forever home in Jan. 2005.	Hillary curls up in a favorite spot for a snooze.	Little Spartacus doing what he does best (looking irresistably cute)!	Cinderella looking for something good to eat. Kittens are always hungry - and very curious!
